And lord almighty, do we relate. Especially when working consists of writing about other shmucks banging on drums all day.

Lucky for us (and you, and most of the industrial world), the weekend is an officially sanctioned, socially acceptable time for maxin', relaxin', and, hey, takin' in a lil' live music.

Early Bird Fridays. With DJ Cortadito. Friday, February 15. Blackbird Ordinary, 729 SW First Ave., Miami. Happy hour starts at 3 p.m. and goes until 8. No cover. Yo, this weekend is loaded with fun shit to do. We recommend kicking off the end of the work week by starting to drink as early (and as cheaply) as you possibly can. If you're looking to get happy for an hour (or five), Blackbird Ordinary has got your back.

Big Night in Little Haiti. With JBeatz and Da Beatz. Friday, February 15. Little Haiti Cultural Center, 212-260 NE 59th Terr., Miami. Festivities start at 6 p.m. The February edition of the Rhythm Foundation's monthly celebration of Haitian music, arts, and culture promises to be especially awesome. Before the night is over, there will be little doubt in your mind that Yon sèl lang se janm ase.

Happy Hour and Friday Night at Gramps. With Real Job, Wild Yaks, Beach Day, and Krisp. Friday, February 15. Gramps, 176 NW 24th St., Miami. Cover costs $5. Happy Hour is from 6 to 9 p.m. Rockers from Brooklyn occupy Miami's newest Brooklyn-y hotspot. We highly recommend the popcorn. Solo sets from members of Real Job and Wild Yaks will be during Happy Hour. Then Beach Day and Krisp are playing late-night style.

SUBMISSION Presents. With The Tunnel, Testökra, Ghetto Gestapo, Slugage, Astrokats, Awkward Kisser, Casual Creatures. Friday, February 15. Lester's. 2519 NW Second Ave., Miami. Cover costs $3. Half off all beers from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Has Lester's ever hosted a circle pit before? Are moshing and sipping a latte while reading a periodical mutually exclusive activities?

Metal at Churchill's. With Carnivores at Grace, Dissever, Moirae, State of Solitude, Hoffa HQ. Friday, February 15. Churchill's Pub, 5501 NE Second Ave., Miami. Cover costs $5. Shredding commences at 8 p.m. sharp. Heavy metal rules, disco drools! Rock 'n' roll!! R.I.P. Cliff Burton!!!

Peachfuzz: Valentine's Edition. With DJ Erock and resident DJ DZA. Friday, February 15. The Garret at Grand Central, 697 N. Miami Ave., Miami. Panty dropping' party tunes drip-drip-drop at 11 p.m. This is already ya girl's favorite party. And the theme of the night has sorta always already been "SEX." So we imagine the Valentine's edition of Miami's premier Friday-night partay will be a high holiday for Miami nightlife.

Bachacho and Mr. Pauer. Saturday, February 16. The Stage, 170 NE 38th St., Miami. Free for ladies, $10 for gents. Alright, so this one is exactly $10 if you have a dingus dangling in your drawers. But it's free for chicks. If you ask us, 2-for-1 counts as under $10!

Robert Elias & The Revenge Live. Saturday, February 16. Brickell Irish Pub, 1451 South Miami Ave., Miami. The show starts at 11 p.m. No cover. Miami's hottest most buzzed-about band brings their energetic, soulful show to Brickell Irish Pub!

Sunday Night Blues. Sunday, February 17. LaLa's, 12325 NE Sixth Ave., North Miami. Doors open at 9 p.m. Admission costs $5. Live band every Sunday. Will the newly opened LaLa's newly established Sunday Night Blues weekly feature tunes by Robert Johnson or Led Zeppelin? How about a lil' Akroyd harmonica?

Dre Day at Chocolate Sundays. Sunday, February 17. Purdy Lounge, 1811 Purdy Ave., Miami Beach. Party starts at 10 p.m. No cover. This week, South Beach's best Monday-morning saboteur is dedicated to making sure there is absolutely no way that you can possibly, even for a second, forget about Dre.
