Happy Weekend!  Now that you've survived the work week, it's time to enjoy the fruits of your labors in the form of fun, friends, and food.

This weekend, why not meet a new friend or enjoy a good steak? If your tastes run to the musical, choose from Jazz in the Gardens or one of the most beloved musicals in modern history.

Weekend starts now!

Toast to a Furry Friend at the District Miami
If you're looking for love in all the wrong places, maybe you should start looking for the four-legged kind. The District Miami is hosting a Yappy Hour on Saturday, March 21, for Our Lucky Paws. A $15 donation gets you a Champagne fresca or dessert while you enjoy DJ Chilly. Of course, there will be a bunch of warm, waggly pups all looking for a scratch, a hug, or a forever home — yours. For reservations call 305-573-4199 or email [email protected].

STK Is Back
Is it a lounge?  Is it a steakhouse?  Well, yes. STK is so very Miami, you'd think it was invented here. But, actually, it's a product of New York's über-trendy Meatpacking District. It's back and bolder than ever with 10,000 square feet of gorgeous lounge and dining space. STK is calling for you to start (or end) your night with a little foie gras French toast or wagyu sliders at the lounge or a decadent strip for a meal. And, there's a DJ spinning eternally, so you might just forget all your other plans and find yourself happily sipping and masticating to a good beat.

Jazz in the Gardens
On Saturday, March 21, and Sunday, March 22, the roar of the crowd at Sun Life Stadium is replaced with the musical stylings of Maxwell, Erykah Badu, R. Kelly, Toni Braxton, Run D.M.C., Sheila E. and more at Jazz in the Gardens. But, this annual music lovers event, now in its 10th year, isn't all about smooth sounds. There are also 40 different food vendors, offering exotic and tasty dishes like conch salad, jerk chicken, barbecue, and seafood. We suggest making a day of it, with a bit of al fresco dining while you're serenaded by some of the country's top jazz and R&B artists. Tickets start at $55. A Wicked Dinner
Long before Frozen, Idina Menzel won the hearts of Broadway as Elphaba, the misunderstood animal rights activist who happened to be a little, well, green. The musical sensation is playing at the Arsht Center through March 31 and if you've scored tickets to this clever backstory to The Wizard of Oz, you're going to want to check out Biscayne Tavern's special Wicked-ly good special three-course dinner. Follow the yellow brick road to your choice of crispy calamari, shrimp dynamite, goat cheese stuffed dates, kale Caesar, or wedge salad. Then, pick an entree from chicken parmesan, mussels diablo with pasta, baby back ribs, meatloaf, or fish and chips. For dessert, there's chocolate chip cookies and milk or back cherry pudding. The special dinner is $35 per person and includes a complimentary glass of beer or wine. Biscayne Tavern is open daily until midnight, so you can even go after the nearly three-hour long show is over.
