"Let's hope no one's in a biting mood on Saturday," Deaf Poets guitarist-singer Sean Wouters tells Crossfade. "But our set might make you feel like you're on bath salts."
The band will be playing a record release party for their new seven-inch single at Churchill's Pub on Saturday night, along with postrockers North & South and Latin pysch kings Arboles Libres.
Listen to a demo of the single's a-side and find out more about the band's summer touring plans after the cut.
"This Pain" is the A-side and the song that guitarist/singer Sean Woutens says crowds kept asking him and drummer Nicolas Espinosa about during their recent shows in Chicago and Boston.
The single's B-side is "Sally", which features extra guitars and bass to give it more of a full-band sound than Deaf Poets get live with its two-person setup.
Later this summer, the band plans to do an extensive Florida tour, followed by an August and September trip up to the Northeast to spread a little face-rocking (no biting) with the rest of the country.
Deaf Poets with Arboles Libres and North & South. Saturday, June 2. Churchill's Pub, 5501 NE Second Ave., Miami. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. and tickets cost $7 at the door or $10 including one of the 400 copies pressed of the single. Call 305-757-1807 or visit churchillspub.com.
