We weren't really sure what to make of the announcement that French pop duo Daft Punk scoring the Disney film Tron. Would they stick to their trademark dance worthy beats, or compromise it all for those cute and memorable mouse ears?

Once we got a peek of some of the track listings, we breathed a sigh of relief. But now there's word that Disney will be hosting "ElecTRONica," which they're dubbing "the greatest nighttime dance party to ever rock Disney California Adventure park." Yes, you read that right. It will all begin on October 8, and lead up to the film's release on December 17. There will be intense light shows and a dance club under the stars, live entertainers, laser shows, and as they put it, "The hottest music to ever rock the grid." But will Daft Punk be in attendance?

Sources say that with the November release of the Tron soundtrack, Daft Punk is poised to make a series of appearances leading up to the film's release date. They'll be doing surprise live sets at film screenings in major cities, and are currently considering a set at the film's Hollywood premiere. The film released a site dedicated specifically to the soundtrack this week, making us even more anxious to hear any news on our favorite robots.

What we do know: Daft Punk is currently designing a national stadium headlining tour for 2011/2012. The Daily Swarm spoke with the Managing Partner and Head of Music of CAA, which represents Daft Punk, and he said he expects "the film soundtrack and tour will lead a dance music juggernaut worldwide. This is going to be the biggest tour of next year." We're excited.
