Police are actively searching for a gunman after two young victims were found shot near Carol City High School this afternoon.

About 400 people remain in the school under lockdown.

Details are sparse at the moment. WSVN reports that while the victims were found on schools grounds, they're still not entirely sure if the shooting occurred at the school. Update: Police now say that the shooting actually occurred at a home near the school.

Both juvenile victims were taken by helicopter to Jackson Memorial Hospital. At least one victim's injuries are being described as minor. The other was shot in the head.

Meanwhile, police have virtually shut down the area around the school, located at 3301 N.W. 183rd St. in Miami Gardens, while they go door-to-door searching for the perpetrator.
