If you're falling asleep at 2 p.m. and getting the shakes right before bed, maybe it's time to tone down your six-cafecitos-a-day addiction. Enter Raw Republic, your new home for clean living. The juicery just opened a second location, in North Miami Beach, so you can pop in for a juice cleanse, a smoothie, an açaí bowl, or a whole host of other options to kick-start healthier habits.
First cousins (and native Miamians) Zachary Stein, Jesse Gimelstein, and Jordan Gimelstein channeled their enthusiasm for the juice-strong lifestyle into a family business. Their first locale opened in Aventura, and their second recently launched at 14871 Biscayne Blvd. Both offer cold-pressed juices, cleanses, smoothies, açaí bowls, raw desserts, and grab-and-go bites.
So why North Miami Beach? "We love the area," Stein says. "The opportunity to be next to an amazing school like FIU really got us excited. With all the students on campus, we can now give them a place to feel at home with healthy food options that is very convenient. Plus, being neighbors with amazing workout concepts like Flywheel and JetSet, we couldn't pass it up."
As far as what differentiates Raw Republic from other local juiceries, the cousins say it's the company culture.
"We want you to feel at home when you come in. All of our regulars and our staff are on first-name basis, and that's how we like it," Jesse Gimelstein says. "Additionally, we like to educate. We encourage questions on how you can better your health and how Raw Republic can help; this is why we've partnered with a nutritionist to make sure you get the best advice."
Plus, nothing is added to the smoothies, bowls, or juices — they're all-natural. What you see is what you get.
As far as menu specifics, there are 13 juice blends, ranging in price from $7 to $12, including the Ginja Ninja (red apple, carrot, beet, celery, ginger, and lemon); Rise 'n Pine (green apple, pineapple, cucumber, coconut water, and chia seeds); and Almond Mylk (activated almond, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla extract, raw honey, water, and salt).
