With a name like Dice Corleone on his birth certificate, you know Loco Dice has to be pure gangsta. Which makes it kind of fitting that the international techno sensation was originally a hip-hopper.

Born in Tunisia and raised in Germany, Dice started out as rapper, playing support slots for the likes of Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, and R. Kelly before switching to four-on-the-floor electronic beats.

And as an EDM producer, he would adapt much of hip-hop's funked-up bravado, imbuing his productions with a floor-smashing physical intensity that's made him a favorite among international techno and tech-house connoisseurs.

It also doesn't hurt that Dice's catalog includes releases on prestigious labels like Ovum, M-nus, and Cocoon -- not to mention the fact that he commands dance floors regularly at global megaclubs from Ibiza to Miami.

Like we said, dude's gangsta.

Loco Dice with Tini and Louis Puig. 11 p.m. Saturday, January 8, at Space, 34 NE 11th St. Miami. Admission costs $20 to $30 via wantickets.com. Ages 21 and up. Call 305-375-0001 or visit clubspace.com.
