Miami's Best Eats and Drinks This Weekend: Donuts, Cocktails, and Red Solo Cups
Red Solo Cup. I fill you up. Let's have a party!

This weekend is all about indulgence, fun, and red Solo cups.
Start by nabbing a free donut (or doughnut depending on where you're going) for a morning treat or mid-day sugar rush.
Then, while snacking on your spherical pastry, plan your weekend. You've got choices. Grab some barbecue (or make some at home with chef Phillip Bryant's tips) or go watch your favorite bartenders play softball (while you drink out of red Solo cups) -- with proceeds benefiting the Overtown Youth Center.
There's a pattern here. And it involves that favorite of frat boys, Toby Keith, and us -- the red Solo cup! Weekend starts now!

Yeah, we know. There are made-up holidays for every day of the year. But how can you say no to National Doughnut Day, which is today, June 6? That's, like, Homer Simpson Day with copious amounts of sugar. Unfortunately, Lard Lad has no freebies today, but Dunkin' Donuts and Krispy Kreme do.
Walk into any Dunkin' Donuts today and pick out the donut of your choice -- free with the purchase of any beverage. The offer's good all day.
Krispy Kreme's offer is even more generous. Just stop in to any Krispy Kreme bakery and pick out your doughnut -- absolutely free, no purchase necessary. The offer stands all day, and is only good at Krispy Kreme shops (not resellers like Walgreens).
Go Out for Barbecue...or Fire up the Grill
Have you noticed that the weather is absolutely spectacular? The evenings have been breezy and humidity-free. Enjoy it while you can, because you just know summer's coming. We suggest getting the friends together for a good old fashioned barbecue (with plenty of red Solo cups). Hosting one at home? Check out chef Phillip Bryant's ten tips for the best cookout ever.
Can't you just hear that sizzle??
Or, let a pro do the work for you and just enjoy. The Federal Food, Drink, and Provisions hosts its first Solo Cup Sundays, where you can help yourself to all the punch, sangria, PBR, and iced tea you like (in red Solo cups, natch) and feast on Cesar Zapata's barbecue. Best of all? No cleanup duty for you.
Negronis for a cause. We'll drink to that!
Get your Dolce Vita on and sip a Negroni for charity this weekend. Negroni Week continues through Sunday, allowing you to enjoy Negronis at nearly two dozen different Miami bars, with part of the proceeds benefiting charity. Here's a list of where to sip for a cause:
USBG Miami's Charity Softball
You've seen them sling drinks, but can they throw the ball with the same skill? That's what you'll find out this Sunday, June 8, when your favorite bartenders get together for the second annual USBG charity softball game.
The action goes on all day, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Flamingo Park Softball Field in Miami Beach, where your favorite mixologists from The Broken Shaker, Blackbird Ordinary, The Regent Cocktail Club, Lure Fishbar and many more will pitch, bat, and run the bases -- all to benefit Alonso Mourning's Overtown Youth Center. Last year, the USBG Miami's efforts raised over $4,500 dollars towards the One Fund Boston, which helped people affected by the Boston Marathon bombings.
Of course, this being a game with bartenders, there's fun (and drinks) to be had.
While they play, you'll enjoy punch barrels, food, a DJ, and an emcee calling all the action. We're all but positive they'll be lots of red Solo cups in attendance. The event is free, but you'll want to purchase a limited edition charity t-shirt for $30, with all proceeds donated to the Overtown Youth Center.
