Miami Spice is over for 2012, Fort Lauderdale's Dine Out is still available until November 10 but frankly, it's a schlep to drive there if you live in Miami. Now, if you're looking to treat yourselves to beaucoup de yum-yums at reduced prices during French Spice month from November 1 to 30, Well have I got some good news for you.
So far, 22 restaurants have signed on and will all be promoting their prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus in addition to their regular fare. They include Otentic Fresh Food, Jean Paul's House, Atrio, Lulu, Palme d'Or, Fabien's Bistro, Wine Depot & Bistro 555, db Bistro Moderne, Dominique Bistro, Le Boudoir (all locations), Villa Azur, Le Provencal, La Gloutonnerie, Cafe Bastille, Armillary Grill, Cote Gourmet, La Riviera, Tuyo, and Pascal's on Ponce.
Prices for two- and three-course lunches are $15 and $25, depending on the restaurant and the menu items. Prices for the prix-fixe dinners are $35 and $50, again depending on your choice of eateries and their dishes. Some of the chefs will offer the same dishes throughout the month and others plan to change the meals more often. Tax and gratuity are not included. The wines imported from different regions of France will be available for the Spice meals at discounted prices, starting at $20 per bottle and $6 a glass. Agreements between restaurants and the distributors have kept the prices down and the savings will be passed on to the clients. How's that for a deal?
Baoli in South Beach is one of the participants vying for your attention.
"Last year we did some major renovations here," said Flavie LeComte, marketing director for Baoli. "Over one million dollars went into updating the restaurant. We removed the large wall that separated the front part of the place from the back garden/bar area. We now have a beautiful new wine cellar, a new improved sound system, new furniture, LED lighting and many other improvements that we're sure will captivate our clientele. Our chef wants to dazzle Spice guests with his delicious preparations and we're really looking forward to making their meals memorable."
