When I was 12, I was a proud Moonie. I spent three-quarters of my free time in class drawing scenes from Sailor Moon manga and the rest of it writing my own Sailor Moon fan fiction.

I avidly collected every single episode of the Japanese series on VHS tape. My dad commissioned a seamstress to make me a costume of Sailor Galaxia's Chaos incarnation for Halloween. I spent every night of my summer vacation sifting through the internet, reading up on Moonie forums, and listening to rough midi versions of Sailor Moon songs from other countries. I definitely had two or three GeoCities websites dedicated to my extensive knowledge of the Sailor Moon universe.

Suffice it to say, I am going to destroy everyone when I fully regress to my 12-year-old self and try to capture the ultimate prize at the Sailor Moon edition of Trivia Newton John Wednesday at 1306.

That's a mouthful, but basically, 1306 is hosting the second edition of its new trivia night, cleverly titled in reference to everyone's favorite Australian singer predating Kylie Minogue. This week, the crew is hosting a Sailor Moon-filled evening in honor of International Sailor Moon Day (even though it's technically on Saturday, but, hey, we'll take what we can get).

Starting at 8 p.m., there will be four rounds of ten Sailor Moon-inspired questions, with a lightning round of “hardcore” Sailor Moon knowledge – my specialty, of course. First place gets a $75 bar tab, second place gets $50 toward the bar, and third place gets a round of beers. All winning teams get complimentary admission to the upcoming Poplife Social at PAMM featuring Modernage on Thursday, August 18.

All participants will also be treated to free pizza and onsite face painting, so you can finally have that Sailor tiara or Luna forehead crescent you've always wanted. When the game is up, Ladies Night begins and all women can drink free from 10 p.m. to midnight.

Participants are entirely encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Sailor Moon character. Study up, kids, because this Moonie is hitting the books.

Tsukini kawatte oshioki yo!
