Forget brunch. Sundays were made for barbecue, so head to the inaugural Grillin in the Grove at Peacock Park (2820 McFarlane Rd., Coconut Grove) this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Whether you’re into Texas, Memphis, or Kansas City ’cue, Grillin in the Grove will have something for every type of barbecue lover. Expect loads of brisket, ribs, pork, Argentine parrillada, and Brazilian churrasco from a plethora of local vendors including Brother Jimmy’s BBQ, King of Racks, Love Is Blind, Brazilian Fire, Pincho Factory, Eat da Bone, Miami Style BBQ, and Prince BBQ.
If you’re thinking of sitting this one out because you’ll miss your Sunday sports watching, think again. A pop-up sports bar dubbed “the Pit” will be fully equipped with flat-screens and booze. Have you always wanted to learn to make barbecue? Head to one of six workshops, where master grillers will school you in the art. And be sure to submit your vote for “Best Backyard Burger” and “Greatest Contest.”
Admission costs $20 at the gate; children 12 and younger get in free. Food prices vary from vendor to vendor. Visit grillininthegrove.com.
