Every Miamian knows Lincoln Road is the place to be on Halloween night. Before the sun sets, the pedestrian mall will be decked out in decorations as families lead their adorably costumed kids through an organized trick-or-treating. But the fun really starts at dusk, when Lincoln Road lights up with four stages featuring guest DJs and pop-up bars. Even if you aren't the dressing-up type, there is no better place to people-watch on Halloween. On Tuesday, the Joint of Miami hosts rapper Chris Travis as he kicks off his The 1 & Only Tour in South Florida. The Memphis rapper was at one point a member of SpaceGhostPurrp's Raider Klan. These days, Travis is head of Water Boyz Ent. On Wednesday, the Argentinian rock band Los Espíritus takes the stage at the Miami Beach Bandshell. Part of the Miami Beach OnStage series, the band will bring its blues-rock sound, which blends Latin rhythms. The Miami Beach show is part of the band's U.S. debut tour. The ninth-annual Miami Film Festival Gems kicks off on Thursday and runs through November 10, bringing you the best films from 14 countries. This year's lineup includes director Sarah Polley's Women Talking, based on the novel by Miriam Toews, and Steven Spielberg's The Fabelmans, which stars Gabriel LaBelle as a 16-year-old aspiring filmmaker alongside Michelle Williams and Paul Dano. Returning for its 37th year on Friday is the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF). Running through November 13, the festival is set to showcase a lineup of international features, indies, documentaries, and short films. Make sure to catch screenings of Rob Margolies' Bobcat Moretti, a psychological drama about an obese man with MS. who takes up the sport of boxing, and Joachim Black's dark comedy Corner Office, starring John Hamm as a compulsive bureaucrat who discovers a secret room. Experience the magic of flamenco music on Saturday and Sunday with musical director and flamenco guitarist José Almarcha. After the sudden death of his mother, Almarcha began composing and interpreting flamenco in a new way. As a result, he created Alejandra. Where would heavy metal be without Metallica? From "Enter Sandman" and "Nothing Else Matters," the band broke the genre into the mainstream back in 1986 with its third album, Master of Puppets. Sunday's show at Hard Rock Live promises to be an intimate affair as Metallica pays tribute to the founder of Megaforce Records, Jonny and Marsha Zazula. Los Angeles-based, New England-bred band Rare Occasions stops by Gramps on Sunday. The indie-rock trio released its sophomore album, Big Whoop, in 2021, and the Miami show comes on the heels of a new EP, Attaboy. The band formed while Brian McLaughlin, Luke Imbusch, and Jeremy Cohen attended college in Boston.
