Since 2009, Dimensions Variable has been downtown’s premier alternative artist-run exhibition space, drawing local and national artists who wish to showcase their provocative and compelling works with the community. To celebrate their five years of advancing creative discourse, founders Leyden Rodriguez, Frances Trombly, and Adler Guerrier are throwing a fundraiser this Friday.
Think block party, only it’s happening in the Downtown Arthouse parking lot (100 NE 11th St., Miami), just two blocks west of Pérez Art Museum Miami. And because art and booze go hand in hand, an open bar will let guests imbibe from 7 p.m. till midnight. Drink up and then get down to the musical talents of Susie Green and Miami Music Club featuring Dim Past and Bobby Flan. Special performances by 3PQ, Magnus Sigurdarson, Maritza Molina, and TM Sisters will follow.
Make time to head inside the gallery and scope out some art. Works will be up for silent auction, and proceeds (along with tickets sales) will go toward funding Dimension Variable’s next five years. Tickets cost $40. Visit dimensionsvariable.net.
