Next Slow Food Miami Dinner, December 10th
Every dog must have his truffle, and tis the season for the famous fungi, which fruits most prolifically in autumn in Piedmont. Thus, tickets are going fast for the next Slow Food Miami Dinner, which features Terra Madre and the cuisine of Piedmont, famous for its white truffles and mushrooms -- the truffle from the region is said to be the finest fungi in the world. So truffle-infused concoctions are all over this menu, from the truffle-oil flavored gnocchi to the rainbow trout with porcinis and truffled gratin potatoes. Each course will be paired with Piedmont wines.
You don't have to be a member of Slow Foods to attend, but committed foodies should all join this excellent organization and share their commitment for preservation of heritage breeds and traditional methods of food preparation and cultivation. The Miami chapter helps plant school gardens, among many other activities promoting healthy and sustainable local foods. There are also two chapters further north for Broward and Palm Beach. And the people I met at the last Slow Food Miami dinner were awfully nice, and very interesting. Highly recommended.
When: December 10, 6:30 p.m.
Where: Blu Pizza e Cucina, 900 South Miami Ave., Miami
Cost: $60 Tickets: Click here.
