Lusine, formerly Lusine and Lucine icl. -- parlayed his studies in sound design into releasing material equally influenced by minimalist composer Steve Reich and the selected ambient works of Aphex Twin Reich inspired. Anchoring his Serial Hodgepodge melodies are chipped acid (micro) house and helical hip-hop hiccups. "Ask You" is prime flutter funk screen printed with a gargling chorus. "Figment" features whirling and stalling mecho-minutiae. As Lusine's Ghostly debut and sixth album overall, Serial Hodgepodge is an easily digested, meticulously sculpted collection of some upfront, syncopated angularities paired with prudent accoutrements.
