National Coffee Day 2015: Where to Get Free Coffee in Miami

Though there are some tea drinkers and hot cocoa people out there, for most Americans, morning just doesn't start without a hot cup of coffee.

According to a recent Zagat survey, we drink about two cups of joe per day, with women preferring lattes with raw sugar and half-and-half for their morning fix. Men, on the other hand, like their coffee without frills — a regular cup of American coffee served black, no sugar, is the preferred beverage.

In another study of coffee-drinking habits, convenience-store chain Cumberland Farms found that 66 percent of people it surveyed can't be bothered with the high prices of specialty shops, with 62 percent of people polled thinking taste is the most important factor in their coffee purchases.

According to the FDA, 54 percent of Americans drink coffee, consuming about 382 million cups daily. No wonder it has its own day.

Tuesday, September 29, is National Coffee Day, and whether you like your java with a shot of caramel syrup and heavy cream or straight-up black, it's time to hoist a mug to the bean that gives us all a daily buzz. Here are some ways to score free coffee tomorrow.

Cumberland Farms
Cumberland Farms will offer its coffee-loving customers a free cup, hot or iced, in any size, all day long. By texting the word FREECOFFEE to 33733, you'll get a coupon for a free coffee. The offer is good only Tuesday, September 29. In addition, the chain will celebrate Free Coffee Fridays, October 9 through 31. Just walk in and enjoy a cup of Farmhouse Blend or Farmhouse Bold for free.

Intermezzo Cafe & Deli
If you live or work in Brickell, hop into Intermezzo Cafe & Deli (1111 Brickell Ave.) this Tuesday and you'll receive a free espresso or eight-ounce American coffee with any breakfast or lunch purchase in honor of the national day of coffee.

Dunkin' Donuts
The java giant is celebrating the first anniversary of its dark roast at the same time as National Coffee Day. That means you can walk into any participating DD and get a free medium cup of Dunkin' Donuts dark roast coffee — hot or iced — just by asking (one per customer).

The Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Co.
On National Coffee Day, get a free Cold Brewsta with the purchase of any menu item at the Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Co. Though there are no longer any locations in Miami, if you're heading north, there are several in Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Krispy Kreme
Snag a free 12-ounce cup of Krispy Kreme house, decaf, or dark-roast coffee and a free regular glazed doughnut. If you have an extra dollar, upgrade your complimentary breakfast. Substitute a premium coffee beverage, such as a 12-ounce mocha, pumpkin spice latte, or iced coffee, for an additional $1.

Eight O' Clock Coffee
Eight O'Clock Coffee is testing out a new way to get your caffeine fix. The no-spill, no-mess, no-drink Coffee Thin! Little chocolates are infused with 100 percent whole coffee beans for a jolt of energy on the go. Visit on National Coffee Day to get a free sample of the high-test treat.

If you have a Nespresso machine, you know the worst possible news you can hear is that you've run out of coffee capsules. Ensure that never happens by taking advantage of this National Coffee Day order. When you purchase 20 sleeves of capsules online (any variety), you'll receive two free sleeves (one Ristretto and one Linzio Lungo). You'll also get free shipping. The offer is good at now through October 6.
