Winter Haven-born, Miami-raised Andre Berto is not only the undefeated WBC welterweight champion but also incredibly personable and down-to-earth. In short, this is an athlete you can root for without reservation, and this Saturday, he’s fighting in his home state for the first time in his professional career, against Juan Urango, a junior welterweight who’s moving up one division. Though Urango was a strong puncher for his natural weight class, he should be out-matched by the thicker and battle-tested Berto, whose Haitian roots should bring out a raucous hometown crowd. Forget ordering this one on Pay-Per-View; you’ll want to see it in person.
