Happy B-Day, Big Boy

The Miami Gay Men’s Chorus is preparing a big celebration in honor of the City of Miami Beach’s 95th birthday. And, of course, when any gay men’s chorus is involved, the party is going to be a smash, complete with lavish production numbers, elaborate costumes, and perhaps a furious flash of jazz hands. This Friday at the Colony Theatre, MGMC will present A Twinkle in Time, a program of heritage songs arranged in four-part harmony, including standards by great songwriters such as Irving Berlin. Many of the chosen songs make reference to Miami Beach and South Florida, which adds a special hometown touch. And fans of MGMC will be happy to know the program will star favorite chorus character Miss Twinkleton, headmistress of the School for Sensitive Boys.
