The Miami Design Preservation League (MDPL), a non-profit organization that preserves and promotes the Miami Beach Art Deco District, will soon offer the Miami City Food Tour. It's organized by Miami Culinary Tours, who already offer jaunts in South Beach and Little Havana.
The price range is $90 to $150 per person, depending on the number of guests. Proceeds go mostly to charity. Asked which restaurants are possible stops, MCT founder Grace Della replied, "We never mention the restaurants because this is part of the surprise of taking a food tour! But we always feature the best of the best!" Guests are also given information on the cultural background and ingredients of dishes, and they are versed in the history and architecture of South Beach. Says Amanda Bush, director of marketing and pr with MBPL, "The culinary tour gives guests an opportunity to enter into some of the buildings in the historic district and experience the unique culture and flavor of Miami Beach."
Tickets are on sale now at the newly renovated Art Deco Welcome Center located at 1001 Ocean Dr., Miami Beach, or you will be able to purchase tickets, and receive more information at mdpl.org and miamiculinarytours.com by early next week.
