Florida Spot Lands List of 100 Best Chinese Restaurants in America

There's no denying that Florida's Chinese population does not compare in size to those in states like California and New York, which have large Chinese and Chinese American communities (and even Chinatown neighborhoods).

However, there are plenty of delicious and authentic Chinese restaurants in Florida, especially down in Miami, which is home to hidden gems like Tropical Chinese.

Despite these South Florida spots for dim sum and Cantonese cuisine, only one Florida restaurant has made Yelp's list of Top 100 Chinese Restaurants 2024.

According to Yelp, landing at No. 38 on the list is Boiled Fish, a Chinese restaurant in Orlando, Florida, serving Szechuan cuisine with a focus on seafood-forward dishes, boiled dishes, and numerous varieties of soup.

Coined A "Hidden Gem" by Central Florida Food Bloggers

So, what's all the commotion about Boiled Gem? According to food bloggers and foodie influencers across TikTok, it's a "hidden gem for Chinese."

Food blogger Joshua Michael (@joshuamichaell) called the restaurant an "Orlando hidden gem." He writes, "If you’re in Orlando, you have to check out Boiled fish! Boiled Fish has an impressive rating of 4.9 stars coming from 72 reviews, which means nearly every comment on Yelp has been five stars. Comments range from, "If you're looking for a spot with delicious food, great service, and a warm atmosphere, Boiled Fish is definitely worth checking out. Highly recommend!" to "Their side dishes are also worth a shot. Everything we've tried has been really tasty. I would definitely recommend dining in to fully enjoy the experience. The restaurant only opened this past January, but the reviews seem to speak for themselves. The restaurant's menu includes steamed dishes, authentic Szechuan staples like "House Boiled Sauerkraut Soup" with numerous varieties and protein options, and stir fry dishes.
