Ready for the best news you'll read all day? Bygone North Bay Village spot Shuckers Waterfront Bar & Grill is back! Well, sort of. In a move that will bring a wave of nostalgia to longtime South Florida residents, the iconic Shuckers Waterfront Bar & Grill is collaborating with longtime South Beach hotel the Clevelander to create a nostalgic menu featuring Shuckers favorites.

Although the beloved waterfront hangout closed its doors in October 2024 after nearly 40 years of serving up legendary seafood and happy hour specials, fans of Shuckers can breathe a sigh of relief because its most popular menu items are now available at Clevelander South Beach's first-floor beach club daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

And, wait, it gets better. While the North Bay Village location may be gone, the Shuckers team isn't done quite yet. If you've been holding out hope for the return of Shuckers, you'll be happy to know that the restaurant isn't gone for good. On the restaurant's website, Shuckers mentions that it will be "moving" and encourages fans to "Stay up to date on our new location coming soon by following us on our social media pages." With this information, in addition to the new SoBe collab, it's safe to say the restaurant hopes to make a comeback.

Shuckers' Iconic Flavors Are Now Available on Ocean Drive

Although Shuckers is no longer serving up fresh seafood along the North Bay Village waterfront, its legacy is very much alive at Clevelander. Shuckers' signature dishes are back in action and ready to bring that laid-back waterfront dining experience to the heart of South Beach.

For those who've spent years indulging in Shuckers' must-have appetizers, the "Shuckers Coconut Shrimp" will instantly transport you to the good old days. It features crispy shrimp encrusted in panko and coconut and paired with a sweet Thai chili sauce. Another Shuckers classic, the garlic shrimp sautéed in white wine, garlic, and tomatoes, makes a triumphant return as well.

And if you’re looking for something to share with friends, Clevelander's new all-day menu features favorites like the loaded nachos, stacked high with cheddar cheese, jalapeños, sour cream, and guacamole, or the famous "Shuckers Grilled Wings" — a dish that's been a staple for over 35 years — which are grilled to perfection and tossed in house-made wing sauce.

As the sun sets, dig into Clevelander's updated late-night menu, featuring crave-worthy bites like Angus sliders, Shuckers' classic grilled cheese sandwich, and fish and chips.

The Legacy of Shuckers Lives On

Shuckers closed its doors in October 2023 after the property was sold for a reported $75 million. The spot was replaced by Palm Tree Club, a waterfront hotel and restaurant with an entirely high-end, music-driven Miami aesthetic through a partnership with international DJ Kygo. At the time, the owners of Shuckers expressed their devastation, as the institution had become a staple for affordable waterfront dining in the area, offering everything from the prime rib sandwich to legendary happy hour specials.

While we wait and see if our old friend, Shuckers, will actually reopen, fans can get their fix at Clevelander South Beach and indulge in the classic flavors they've loved for decades.
