A Miami Sensation in Less Than a Year

As New Times shared this past February, the Alcobe-Garibay sisters opened the pop-up concept of Honey Veil bakery with their mother, Cecilia, after she perfected a homemade sourdough recipe that became ultra-popular among their family and friends. Once word got out beyond just their immediate circle, though, demand for the family's nourishing goods grew.

Raised in an athletic household — both Regina and Cecilia played competitive tennis since they were toddlers — the family was primarily concerned with clean eating and high-quality ingredients. Honey Veil's signature sourdough is made without refined sugars or processed additives. They opt for natural sweeteners like agave, maple syrup, and coconut sugar. Their health consciousness extends to their full menu, which includes cinnamon rolls, banana bread, and their widely popular matcha lattes.

The sisters began helping their mom, prepping and selling the goods at local farmers’ markets. Once their products began to sell out there, they bought a trailer and expanded operations, establishing several high-demand pop-up locations across Miami, like Coconut Grove, Pinecrest, and the University of Miami, where their clientele consistently shares Honey Veil’s exciting array of Matcha drinks on social media.

A fan favorite is the "Blue Babe Matcha," a blueberry matcha latte made with homemade honey-sweetened blueberry jam. Another is the "Brunei Dirty Matcha," which has a shot of espresso for those who need an extra boost.

So, Where's The New Spot? There's Hints

Honey Veil has over 25,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok — an impressive feat for a brand that is barely a year old. With their new storefront opening soon, Honey Veil is garnering some exciting buzz from the community. In a teaser posted today on Instagram, the sisters asked their followers where they think the storefront location will be.

The commentators were quick to analyze the photo they shared, and were able to narrow it down — the new Honey Veil store will be in South Miami, across from Sunset Place. There is no set date for the opening yet, but with the attention the teaser is getting, there will surely be a sizable turnout to celebrate the work of the Alcobe-Garibay family when the store opens for business.
