Shareef Malnik, the charismatic owner of The Forge

restaurant, was back in action at the BubbleQ on Friday during the Food Network

South Beach Wine & Food Festival. It was Malnik's return to the culinary

arena, since he shuttered his iconic steakhouse last summer. He also introduced

the food world to his new chef, Dewey LoSasso, formerly of North One 10.

For the BubbleQ, LoSasso prepared a roasted filet mignon

sandwich topped with boneless short ribs and lobster marmalade. It was served

with truffled yucca chips. So, can we expect such decadent fare on The Forge's

revamped menu? While Malnik was mum on the details, he did exclusively divulge

the opening date of the "new" Forge, March 29. Foodies, mark that date in your

calendar. (For more exclusive Forge scoop, please visit here.)

And if you are in the restaurant biz, The Forge is hiring. They are holding a job fair this week at the restaurant (today, tomorrow and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.). For the front of house, they need managers, sommeliers, waiters, bartenders, food runners, hosts and receptionists. In the kitchen, there are positions available for line cooks, prep cooks, pastry assistants, garde manger and sous chef. No phone calls are accepted.
