2 New Costcos Are Coming to Miami. When Will They Open?

Good news, Costco lovers. The wholesale giant is bringing two new warehouses to Miami in the coming years, and then one in Broward. While the popular wholesale retailer already has a solid presence in South Florida, with multiple locations in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, these openings are in neighborhoods that have been Costco-free for years, so this is huge news.

Costco’s popularity comes from more than just its bulk prices. Shoppers often find themselves picking up unexpected items along with their essentials, from electronics and furniture to oversized baked goods. Plus, fans keep their memberships for the bulk savings, the $4.99 rotisserie chickens, the aisles of free samples, and, of course, the famous $1.50 hot dog-and-soda combo.

Cutler Bay to Get First-Ever Costco

Last year, a brand new Costco was approved in the Cutler Bay neighborhood of South Miami-Dade, technically in West Perrine. In May 2024, the Miami-Dade County Commission voted eight to five to sell a 17-acre county-owned parcel near Southwest 190th Street and 108th Avenue to developer Michael Swerdlow for $8.1 million.

According to Commissioner Kionne McGhee, Costco is expected to revitalize the area and address local needs for employment and food access.

Plans for this project include creating more than 400 jobs and offering 5,000 free memberships to residents earning less than $50,000 per year, according to WPLG Local 10. No opening date has been announced yet.

Doral Plans Its Second Warehouse

In Miami-Dade, Costco has filed a pre-application to build a 159,000-plus-square-foot store on a 20-acre site west of Dolphin Mall, next to Topgolf Doral at 11850 NW 22nd St.

If approved, it would be the fifth location in the county and the second in Doral, which already has a warehouse at 14585 SW 88th St., according to WPLG Local 10.

Pompano Beach Costco Store Joins The Pomp

In Broward County, Costco has been chosen over other large retailers to anchor The Pomp, a massive mixed-use development in Pompano Beach. When complete, The Pomp will span 223 acres and serve as a year-round hub for concerts, festivals, cultural events, casino gaming, dining, and shopping.

The site already houses Harrah’s Pompano Beach, home to more than 1,200 slot machines, a poker room, and multiple restaurants, as well as Topgolf Pompano Beach, which offers more than 100 climate-controlled hitting bays and on-site dining. Future plans call for additional entertainment and dining concepts, including Sports & Social and PBR Cowboy Bar. Costco's arrival will transform the city's current warehouse on Sample Road into a business center. The new location will be open to the general public and is expected to open in fall 2027, giving Pompano Beach its second Costco.

With Pompano Beach, Doral, and Cutler Bay all slated for new warehouses, the chain is betting on demand strong enough to support significant expansion across the region. Expect the openings to happen within the next three years.
