Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2, the sequel to one of the best loved animated films by kids (and critics), is coming to theaters September 27. In this new movie, Inventor Flint Lockwood finds his invention that made spaghetti tornadoes is alive and well -- and making foodimals! Flint and his friends then find themselves tackling hungry tacodiles, shrimpanzees, hippotatomuses, cheespiders and other foodimals to save the world - again!
To celebrate the movie, Miami will have two days in which to take on its very own foodimals when the Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 Foodimobile makes its way to our fair town to give away promotional lunch boxes filled with your choice of a complimentary main course and a side item -- all based on adorable (and edible) characters from the movie.
Main courses include subwhales (sandwiches); tacodiles (chicken tacos); fruit cockatiels (fruit and yogurt parfait); and hippotatomuses (baked potatoes).
Sides include Barry (strawberries); watermelonphant (watermelon cubes); pickles; carrots; or celery.
The lunch boxes are free and include recipe cards explaining how to make the foodimals at home!
The Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 Foodimobile will be at Flamingo Park in South Beach today, August 30 at 2:30 p.m., and at Crandon Park Beach Amusement Center in Key Biscayne tomorrow, August 31 at 2:30 p.m. The truck will be at both locations until supplies run out, so get there early.
