Yet after one bite of a gooey sliver at Casola's, you won't want to use it as anything but a meal. This unassuming pizzeria, open since 1982 next to a gas station, is so confident you'll fall in love with the authentic New York-style pizza that free samples always sit, piping-hot, on the counter next to the cash registers. If you're feeling adventuresome, check out the Portuguesa pie, which includes toppings such as ham, pepperoni, olives, onions, green peppers, and egg. Also available are ostrich-size chicken wings, massive subs, pastas, salads, and gelati that lure customers all the way from West Palm Beach. Just be forewarned: Only cash is accepted. ATMs are on the premises, but each transaction includes a fee, and who wants to throw away a buck or two when it can go toward extra toppings? And if you're in a hurry or can't get out, place your order online for pickup or delivery.
