Zoo Miami is not quite like other zoos. These are some party animals, and Halloween season is no different. They’re calling all witches, vampires, and ghouls to hang with the tigers, turtles, and kangaroos for a very special Monster Masquerade.
The event boasts creepy fun along the zoo paths. You never know what you’ll hear, see, and smell — “after all, it is the zoo,” according to the website. If you dare, explore all 7,000 square feet of Dr. Wilde’s Creepy House. Get dolled up and try to win the costume contest; then stay to watch zoo crew members re-enact Michael Jackson’s timeless seasonal classic, “Thriller.”
They’ve got treats to go along with the tricks, including open bars, tasty snacks from sponsors, and the Bat Bite, a special cocktail served at the Bacardi Bat Lounge. You can also enter a raffle to win two tickets to the new Cirque du Soleil show, Almaluna.
The monster madness begins at 8 p.m. Friday at Zoo Miami (12400 SW 152nd St., Miami). Tickets cost $60 for zoo members and $65 for nonmembers; special group pricing is also available. Call 305-251-0400 or visit zoomiami.org.
