In a town where hip bars with flat-screen TVs come a dime a dozen, one neighborhood haunt has the secret to longevity. Fox’s Sherron Inn has been open since 1946. “Every customer feels like they’re in their own home. The ambiance makes them feel like that,” explains Eva Andrews, part of the family that owns Fox’s, an intimate lounge aglow with red lights. The jukebox is free, so the diverse clientele dictates the play list for the evening, which can shift from Louis Armstrong’s “Hello Dolly” to Maroon Five’s “This Love.”

“It’s like no other place in Miami. I think a lot of people have realized what we have is pretty rare,” says Andrews. Fox’s longevity can also be attributed to its traditional menu and mean martinis, which are served in a frosty glass with a sidecar -- a miniature carafe nestled into an old-fashioned ice bucket. Come in tonight for late happy hour and enjoy two-for-one drinks from 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. If you want to take the party home with you, stop by the liquor store adjacent to the lounge.
