If you're going to a new school this year, like me, you want to make a good impression. Even if you're not new, you still need to make a good impression after not seeing your friends all summer. You don't want people to think that you don't care about your hair because you just leave it raggedy. If you're transferring to a private school, like me, you should try to be even more organized. Teachers actually care more in private schools about the way you look. You don't have to style your hair, you just have to take good care of it. This year I'm personally spiking my hair. It looks edgy and kids don't make fun of me. In the morning I use shampoo and then I comb it down and I put on gel. I use LA Looks, #10, because it's really hard to spike my hair with a lesser volume of gel and Number 10 holds better than all the other ones. But that's just me. Do whatever you want with your hair. Just make sure you do something. -- By Park Fraser Delgado

Park Fraser Delgado is a 6th-grader at Saint Rose of Lima School. He's been spiking his locks for about a month, he estimates.
