HistoryMiami will host Night at the Museum: Recoding History, a 24-hour hackathon event pairing developers, designers and tech enthusiasts together to design innovative digital solutions to present South Florida’s diverse and rich history. "HistoryMiami hopes to use this event to help the organization rethink the way the museum's collection should be experienced," said Stuart A. Chase, HistoryMiami Museum Director/COO. "By allowing the museum to be seen through this innovative approach, HistoryMiami will reveal the collection of unique historical photographs and documents in a profoundly new manner." At the hackathon’s conclusion on Sunday, November 9, teams will present their ideas to a panel of judges. They projects will be ranked based upon relevance, completeness, functionality, uniqueness and design. The top three solutions will be awarded cash prizes: $8,000 for first place, $1,500 for second place and third place $500. The event starts on Saturday, November 8 at 11:000 a.m. for registration and hacking begins promptly at noon, thru Sunday, November 9 at noon.
