Cocolimon Frozen Yogurt arrived on Miracle Mile almost
three months ago. It's a welcome addition to
the neighborhood, with a sleek, contemporary design and a pay-by-weight, self-serve approach. An employee handing out tasting
cups at the door greets patrons.
Veer left and you're at the
self-serve frozen yogurt machines. They're full of creamy goodness made onsite. Eight flavors are available at any given
time. On a recent night, the selection included pomegranate, cheesecake, red
velvet, dulce de leche, chocolate (sugar-free), banana, and culture
classic (vanilla). All are nonfat. There's always one sugar-free
option.
There are also 30-plus toppings, including mini-cheesecake, cookie dough, and brownies.
By the time you reach the counter --
and the scale -- you can also add sauces such as chocolate,
caramel, and condensed milk. Each creation costs 49 cents per ounce.
Our total came to $7.45 plus tax with culture classic and pomegranate
frozen yogurt topped with kiwi, mango, strawberries, and mochi.
Cocolimon doesn't offer much seating,
something it could easily remedy in the space. It does, however,
offer curbside delivery. Although there are no dedicated parking
spaces, the store employee we spoke with
(the owner could not be reached over the course of a week) said the
service has worked out well. He explained that customers call
in with the weight, toppings, and frozen yogurt flavor they're
craving; then the concoction is prepared and run out to them when they arrive. There is no
fee or gratuity tacked on.
