For over 30 years, Islas Canarias has been serving authentic and well-priced Cuban fare to the people of Miami. Somewhat of an institution, Islas Canarias is bright, loud and perpetually busy.

Now, Islas Canarias has added a food truck to their original restaurant and the newer bakery/cafe, bringing their croquetas and ropa vieja to a location near you.

Cuban Cube is decorated in citrus colors, looking more like a page from a geometry book than the mobile home of Cuban bites. The menu takes old school favorites and makes them portable. Croquetas ($1 each) are served alone or in sliders (two for $6), stuffed inside a sweet bun.

Steak Milanesa is turned into "bites" ($4), still breaded and topped with creole sauce, ham and cheese, and ropa vieja is served as montaditos (three for $6). Other offerings include Cuban cigars, three pork wontons served with tamarind dipping sauce ($8) and the "three amigos", three fried green plantains stuffed with shrimp ceviche ($7).

Mini-dessert shots, flan, and cupcakes finish off the meal (all $3 each). Cuban Cube will be at Tropical Park tonight, along with more than two dozen other trucks.
