For more than a decade, AthleticsFit has provided thousands of South Floridians with stress-free, freshly-made dishes at their doorstep. Delivered every two days, AthleticsFit mouth-watering meals keep busy people fed, from bodybuilders to entire families, earning the Miami Shores-based firm back-to-back wins as the Miami New Times Readers' Choice winner for Best Meal Delivery Service.

But what’s the secret sauce behind this homegrown success? It’s a story that starts in a tiny kitchen, winds through the city’s gyms and homes, and, at its heart, is about more than just food — it’s about trust, transparency, and a relentless drive to make healthy eating not just possible, but pleasurable.

Born When Meal Prep Was Unknown

AthleticsFit’s journey began in 2015, long before meal prep was a household phrase. Founder Mikhail Sidorenko remembers those early days. “We took this risk," Sidorenko says. "I started with professional athletes and bodybuilders. We quickly realized it’s very helpful for anyone." The idea was simple: take the stress out of eating well by delivering fresh, chef-prepared meals right to your door.

What started as a husband-and-wife operation has since blossomed into a Miami institution. Today, AthleticsFit serves thousands of customers across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Boca Raton, delivering a steady diet of meals each week, powered by software developed by Eugene Danilov, the company’s business partner and chief technology officer.

Even as the company has grown, it has never lost its local roots. AthleticsFit is also the only meal prep company to offer a customer loyalty program. “We’re not shipping meals across states," Sidorenko says. "We cook fresh, deliver fresh, and stay close to our customers."

Ask anyone at AthleticsFit what sets them apart, and you’ll hear the same thing: quality. “We personally select all our ingredients,” Sidorenko says. “We work with premium and organic suppliers and don’t compromise on quality.” That means no preservatives, no added sugars, and no artificial additives.

Anastasia Sadchikova, marketing manager and the company’s transparency champion, says that while many of their ingredients are organic, they can't guarantee 100 percent organic. However, they aren't afraid to show what ingredients they use.

That transparency entails inviting regular and new customers to see the kitchen in action, meet the team, and inspect the refrigerators. “We just don’t want to be a generic meal prep company,” Sadchikova says. “We want to build trust with our customers.”

Personalized Service, Real Relationships

In an age of faceless apps and endless customer service loops, AthleticsFit takes a refreshingly personal approach. Every customer gets a dedicated account manager — someone who knows your name, your preferences, and your dietary quirks. “It’s not a call center, it’s a relationship,” Sidorenko says. “Our clients know our team by name.”

That personal touch extends far beyond the first order. Customers can call AthleticsFit and speak directly with a representative who will help tweak meal plans and deliveries. They won't send you to an online chat or an email. “We can work with you and are very flexible," Sidorenko says. "The goal isn’t just to deliver meals. It’s to become a trusted part of your daily routine, a partner in your health journey.”

There are no subscriptions, no long-term commitments, and no hidden cancellation hoops. Customers can choose from more than 150 meal combinations, order as few or as many meals as they need, and schedule deliveries for the days that work best. Meals arrive three times a week — Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday — so you’re never stuck with a fridge full of aging food.

“We deliver every two days,”
Sidorenko says. “It’s a lot for us, but we do it to keep the meals fresh. It’s our number one goal.”

AthleticsFit menus offer a variety of items that can be tailored to a customer’s needs, whether it's weight loss, muscle gain, or balanced nutrition.

Zero-Waste and Perfected Delivery

At the top of Sidorenko’s concerns is ensuring that AthleticsFit is not making more food than can be consumed. That commitment led AthleticsFit to develop its own software to precisely calculate ingredient needs and eliminate leftovers  a true zero-waste kitchen. The company composts over 600 pounds of waste annually, partners with Compost for Life, and uses reusable delivery bags.

When it comes to delivery, AthleticsFit has it down to a science. “We control everything from the orders on our website to receiving in the kitchen to the deliveries,” Sidorenko says. “So we cook, we deliver, and we have 24/7 customer service.”

The company’s drivers are subcontractors who use AthleticsFit custom-built software to navigate deliveries, which are timed for when customers are actually home, usually between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. The logistics are daunting — over 2,000 deliveries a week, navigating Miami’s notorious traffic, valet parking, and condo security, but AthleticsFit’s custom-built navigation app keeps everything humming.

Community Recognition: Best of Miami, Twice

Winning the Miami New Times Readers' Choice award for Best Meal Delivery Service once is a coup. Winning it two years in a row? That’s a statement. For Sidorenko, it’s more than just a trophy — it’s validation from the community they serve. “It reflects the trust we’ve built and the consistent quality we’ve delivered,” Sidorenko says.

Every year, the company is also nominated for a Readers' Choice award for Best Customer Experience by its gym partners, a testament to its roots in the fitness community and its ongoing commitment to service.

AthleticsFit’s greatest asset isn’t its kitchen, its software, or even its food — it’s its people. Sidorenko, his business partner, sales team, and the team of chefs, packers, and drivers are the heart of the operation. “We believe food is deeply personal, and so is trust,” he says. “That’s why we’re transparent about who’s behind our meals.”

AthleticsFit has carved out a unique space in Miami’s food landscape. Its blend of local focus, ingredient integrity, personalized service, and sustainability has made it not just a meal prep company but a trusted partner in the lives of thousands of South Floridians.

“I’m really proud of what we built,” Sidorenko says. “I’m happy to have a strong team. This is part of our success and why we have won the category for best meal prep company in Miami twice.”
