For the less adventurous, the idea of roller skating in hot pants while loaded on bourbon might seem harrowing — especially on a Tuesday. But you aren’t one of those strait-laced types. You piss into the wind. You attend knife-sharpening parties where kegs and children are present. It’s maverick thrill-seekers like you who have made Intoxiskate the must-do weekly party of the counterculture set. For more than four decades, Gay Skate Tuesdays have been a Gold Coast staple. But it wasn’t until a few years back, when the full bar was added, that the event received a necessary, drunken facelift. Intoxiskate has become the fastest, most precarious, hair-holding, waiver-signing rager for thrill-seekers from the 305 to the 561. Of course, you probably already know that. Why else would the back of your hot pants read SK8ER? Roll from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. every Tuesday at Gold Coast Skating Rink.
