As unique as people are, we certainly have one thing in common: a constant lust for food. Even a plant, actual vegetation, once demanded, Feed me, Seymour. And after years of slumming it at the corporate trough, real food no matter the genre or nationality is what counts. Call it eating equality and its the new black.
This Saturdays first annual Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (MDGLCC) Taste of Miami will bring that concept to life at the Miami Beach Convention Center. From 5 to 8 p.m., 20 area MDGLCC member restaurants, such as Asia de Cuba, Escopazzo, and Soyka, will offer samples of their goodies to anyone whos interested gay or straight. The best thing is that your stomach wont be the only one getting happy after you fork over the $45 admission fee (or $60 at the door); proceeds will benefit the MDGLCC Foundation Scholarship Program supporting area youth. Visit gogaymiami.com for a full list of participating restaurants and to purchase tickets.
