Through September 14, Miami Beach Cinematheque (1130 Washington Ave, Miami Beach) will teem with fashion cliques trekking from near and far for the return of the Miami Fashion Film Festival. The five-day event, now in its second year, is hosted by Fashion Inspires More, a nonprofit organization paying it forward to Miami by broadening its fashion culture through art and informative education. Documentaries such as Santiago Garza Ceja’s The Style Kind and short films like Karen Sadler’s The Magic Bracelet will be screened during the fashion frenzy of filmmaking. Names like Tom Ford, Hermès, and Maison Martin Margiela will also make guest appearances in the shorts Tokyo Lost & Found — Tom Ford/Lanvin, Man on the Move, and Mykita + Maison Martin Margiela. In addition to the fashion-centric flicks, the event will also host talks with cinematographic geniuses such as Antonio Contreras, who took home last year’s Founder’s Award. “These are the films fashion fans can get excited about,” says Fashion Inspires founder Grace M. Castro. “We’re excited that South Florida has embraced the Miami Fashion Film Festival. It’s another great way in which we can experience and enjoy fashion.” Tickets can be purchased at MIAFFF.org.
