Wynwood is all about the art. But when music and technology enter the mix this weekend for the III Points Festival, things will escalate to a whole new level of brilliance.
Sure, the major headliners at this weekend's festival are musicians like Miami Horror, YACHT, and others. But if you're not paying attention to the art on display, you're missing out on at least a third of the fun.
Cultist is here to guide you through the multi-medium mélange of arts events this weekend. Here, we present you with our top five unmissable arts events at III Points.
5. John Sevigny's "Wilderness of Mirrors"
The description of this event on John Sevigny's website says it all: "First Miami exhibition ever. Possibly the last. Saturday, October 5. One night only. Be there. It's free. There will be booze."
The world-renowned photographer's way with words is only trumped by his proficiency with a camera. His solo show, "Wilderness of Mirrors", will display photos he took during his extensive travels through various dangerous areas of Central America as he played "paparazzi to the iconic unknown." The Imagesound team is presenting the solo show and will be curating a special soundtrack for the event.

4. Strangeways Zine Release
Counter culture zine masthead Strangeways is going big. Their newest zine drops just in time for III Points, and will be a theme-less tribute to the styles, concepts and techniques of this weekend's festival. The sounds of Santiago Caballero will accompany the exhibit and there will be a handful of giveaways and plenty of copies of Strangeways floating around Bardot. Afterwards, stick around for performances by Miami Horror, Dude Skywalker and Pirate Stereo.

3. Starving Artist/Cup Exchange
The premise of this event is simple: you become the artist. Purchase a coffee at Wynwood Cafe anytime from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday, October 5th and decorate a sleeve for the next patron to receive with their cup of joe. This interactive event is the perfect place to grab a bite to eat (everything is $5 or less!) in between the weekend's big events -- and to jam out to Slap & Tickle DJs Pirate Stereo, Panic Bomber and Santiago Caballero. Get your draw on, artists of Miami.

2. TM Sisters at Samsung Galaxy Gallery
Screens and tablets and art, oh my! The TM Sisters are taking III Points guests into a new galaxy this weekend as they turn Hangar Gallery into their canvas. The immersive artistic experience will be displayed on Samsung Galaxy screens and tablets around the venue and provide the ultimate mash-up of art, music and tech. The video-based art gallery will have two different showings and will be accompanied by YACHT's spacey sounds.

1. David Lynch x Borscht Film Screening
Renowned surrealist filmmaker David Lynch's passion for Transcendental Meditation (TM) comes to the big screen this weekend at The Light Box at Goldman Warehouse. His film Meditation, Creativity, Peace documents his 16-country tour of Europe, the Middle East and Latin America, where he spread the word about the impact of TM. Sure to be positively "Lynchian" from start to finish, Lynch's documentary will be prefaced by a variety of short films curated by Miami-based film collective Borscht.
