It’s time to let go of all your preconceived notions about humans and horses. Leave the Equus and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back references at home before heading to Cavalia’s Odysseo. The phantasmal production goes one step beyond Cirque du Soleil and introduces horses into the artistry in a way that makes Ringling Bros. look like a dog-and-pony show. Odysseo presents a show experience that tickles the imagination — think live carousels and gravity-defying balancing acts involving 75 horses and 55 performance artists.
Returning to Bicentennial Park (301 Biscayne Blvd., Miami) Odysseo — which debuted in Miami in 2010 — will occupy more than 100,000 square feet underneath a big top featuring a 27,000-square-foot stage. The production will seat nearly 2,300 spectators to ensure plenty of oohs and ahhs. And although Kinky Kelly is not in this year’s lineup, this group of stallions will surely stun you aplenty.
