John Belushi is probably one of the most famous American comedians of all time — thanks, in large part, to his role in Animal House, the classic raunchy comedy that makes more modern movies such as American Pie look Disney-esque by comparison. Even though the film is almost 35 years old, the message still hits home: Drinking is awesome. Miami New Times and Zoo Miami haven’t forgotten this inspirational film. They’ll bring you beer, live entertainment, and wild animals all in one Saturday event: Brew at the Zoo. If you think you can handle drinking in the vicinity of tigers and bears, stop by Zoo Miami (12400 SW 152nd St., Miami) for samples of dozens of beers while watching live performances by Alien Ant Farm, the Spazmatics, and King Louie and the Bushmen. The event runs from 7 to 11 p.m., but if you buy a $70 VIP ticket, you can get in an hour early and enjoy a designated tented VIP area, unlimited beer and spirits samples, and catered food.
