Yes, Miami sports fans, you’re only two short weeks removed from the heartbreak of the NBA Finals. But don’t let the Heat’s failed threepeat attempt ruin all your other sports happenings in South Florida. In the heart of Little Havana, the Miami Marlins are accomplishing what is, for them, a pretty remarkable feat: They’re finally being competitive. And that’s extra-impressive given the injury to pitcher Jose Fernandez, the team phenom who was a Cy Young Award candidate last year. The Fish are only a couple of games out of the lead for the NL East when the AL- and MLB-leading Oakland A’s visit Marlins Park (501 Marlins Way, Miami) this Saturday for the second of a three-game homestand. Also, as part of the Saturday Summer Concert Series and Venezuelan Heritage Day, Marlins Park will present Venezuelan pop duo Chino y Nacho for postgame festivities. Though one might think the group’s name is an homage to a form of tortilla chip drenched in cheese and soy sauce, the two are actually Latin Grammy winners and judges on the Spanish version of The X Factor on MundoFox. But before the party, the game kicks off at 4:10 p.m.
