Kelce is living and training in Boca Raton ("Kelce is here in South Florida to get back to his roots, to reunite with Fort Lauderdale–based speed-and-agility coach Tony Villani," GQ's Sean Manning writes), so he and Swift have been galavanting around South Florida for a few months now. In May, they were spotted dining at Harry's Bar & Restaurant in West Palm Beach. A few weeks later, they turned up at a Panthers game. That same week, Swift surprised young fans at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood. In his GQ spread, Kelce also mentions training at XPE Sports in Fort Lauderdale.
But nothing proves Kelce's "Florida Man" transformation is complete quite like the photos that accompany his interview. He's photographed rocking D&G furs on an airboat in the Everglades, standing in a trail in a fringe leather jacket and Stetson boots, and sitting on an ATV in a denim coat. The highlight? Kelce lugs a Hermès bag through knee-deep water as he wades among the swamp lilies. He even gets up close and personal with a snake in a photo that might raise eyebrows, given the Everglades' well-documented history with invasive slithering species.
Another South Florida landmark is also prominently featured in the story. In one of two September covers, Kelce hovers above the waters on a Flyboard in front of Miami Marine Stadium, the legendary yet languishing performance venue.
"I’ve become way more strategic in understanding what I am portraying to people," Kelce tells Manning of his growing fame. "I have a good understanding of how I want to be portrayed."
Apparently, the way Kelce wants to be portrayed these days is as the apex Florida Man.
