While developers continue to litter Miami’s airspace with overpriced piles of pseudo-Modernist garbage, the rest of us have realized we’re living in the age of renewal. Property owners with a gift for smart renovation are the ones who will be maximizing profits and bringing Miami back to the forefront of the international design community. With motels, factories, and Fifties ranch homes, Miami already has the bones of an architecturally diverse community, and with projects like Miami 21 (if it ever happens), maybe we’ll get there. For now let the enlightened few flock to Expo International’s Miami Home Remodeling and Interior Design Show at the James L. Knight Center, Riverfront Hall.

The Expo declares itself the be-all, end-all resource for everything pertaining to property renewal, including providers of both products and service. From cabinets to bidets and linens to landscaping, the Expo has ideas and -- most helpful -- credited installers. Maybe you can even find a guy to build that beer fountain you’ve always dreamed of. Admission is free, and the Spam Allstars will perform live. Check it out today from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
