There are few instances in life when Edward Scissorhands and Marge Simpson might share a dance floor, but the Halloween Sundowner is proudly one of them. Recognized as a National Historic Landmark, the grand and gorgeous Vizcaya Museum & Gardens (3251 S. Miami Ave., Miami) is worth dressing up for.
This Saturday's 21-and-older bash will be the 28th of its kind, and it promises unpredictability. Guests are encouraged to get creative with their attire, while the mansion's sultry decor will scream All Hallows' Eve.
The high-energy extravaganza will include an open bar, a crêpemaker, and a tasting village. From 8 p.m. till midnight, entertainers and dancers will reign over a mass of inventive and colorful costumes. Also at the disposal of partygoers will be the vast gardens of Vizcaya’s picturesque east terrace facing Biscayne Bay.
One night of the year is dedicated to one of the museum’s greatest fundraisers, and proceeds go toward restoring and preserving its gardens. Tickets are all-inclusive and cost $160 for general attendees and $140 for members. Contact Miriam Barcia via 305-860-8420 or [email protected].
