Forget all of that iKindle, eNook nonsense; books are totally making a comeback. They’re more easily replaceable and much more beach-friendly than electronic devices. Plus, you can’t exactly fill a bookcase with e-reader files to prove your extreme intelligence to the hookups you bring home from the bar. So ditch the gadgets and go retro. Be different. Be cool. Buy a book. Beginning Wednesday, the Main Library (101 W. Flagler St., Miami) will be the site of the 12th annual Friends of the Miami-Dade Public Library Book Sale. More than 100,000 books, CDs, and DVDs will be on sale with prices starting at $1, or just 10 cents for children’s books. Whether you’re looking for a cheap copy of Twilight to give your daughter for Christmas or a second copy of Fifty Shades of Grey to replace the one your husband keeps stealing, you’ll find fresh reading material here. Of course, you don’t have to buy to browse. The book sale is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through December 15. While you’re there, sign up for a Miami-Dade Public Library card.
