Wynwood's Veza Sur Brewing Co. brewery is getting an upgrade and will soon have a brand-new look, aesthetic, and name.

On Saturday, December 14, Miami will officially meet Casa La Rubia, the newly remodeled and rebranded Veza Sur Brewing Co. in the heart of Wynwood.

Located at 55 NW 25th St., the longtime Miami brewery will temporarily close on Monday, December 9, to undergo renovations and will reopen its doors and welcome patrons with a holiday party on December 14. At the party, the brewery will offer $5 La Rubia 16-ounce pints, bites, and a variety of activities and giveaways to celebrate its grand opening day.

Why the Change from Veza Sur Brewing Co. to Casa La Rubia?

Wynwood Brewing Company, Miami's first craft beer production brewery founded in 2013, closed its original location at 565 NW 24th St. back in February due to its merger with its sister brewery, Veza Sur Brewing Co., which was conveniently located just down the street.

Once it closed down, the brewery revealed via an Instagram post that it would focus its efforts on expanding its renowned La Rubia blonde ale, while continuing to grow its signature brews like Father Francisco and Pops Porter — all at Veza Sur.

Back in 2013, the blonde ale quickly became a fan favorite and Wynwood Brewing's flagship beer. Now, the new name will reflect its notoriety and prowess in Miami's beer scene. "We are thrilled to give La Rubia a permanent home in the heart of Miami, where it truly belongs. La Rubia is not just a beer; it embodies the spirit of our city and is a celebration of our vibrant community," says Megan Ruiz-Necuze, commercial director for Casa La Rubia. "We look forward to welcoming everyone to experience the warmth and culture that Casa La Rubia represents."

Casa La Rubia will represent the natural evolution of the strategic partnership between two of Miami's craft breweries — Wynwood Brewing and Veza Sur Brewing Co.
