Nada Pool Party: Freaky artists take over the Deauville pool with installations, interactive projects, performances, DJs, the works. Runs from 2-7 p.m. Admission is free with RSVP to [email protected].
Bakehouse Art Miami Afterparty: Two exhibits, dozens of artists' galleries to explore, plus free Becks, Jordan wine, and that Arizona Lemon Fizz stuff they're hawking everywhere this year. Heineken Mural Project Street Party: You'll be dancin' in the streets with Hawaiian artist Estria and the hip-hop sounds of Plan Beats Radio. The pre-party starts at 4 p.m., with the real stuff going down from 7 p.m. until who knows when at 313 NW 25th St.
Second Saturday Art Walk: Oh yeah, that's happening too. Because you needed another reason to see art this weekend.
Crash the Ball: Class things up with a fancy Miami Art Museum party (without paying for the $1,000 privilege of attending its annual fundraising ball). Tickets cost $150, but Hedy Goldsmith's desserts are priceless, so you're still getting a damned good bargain. Crash the Ball runs from 10 p.m. - 2 a.m. Visit miamiartmuseum.org.
LCD Soundsystem R.I.P.: Nancy Whang of the recently departed LCD Soundsystem is just one of the special guests who'll hit up South Beach's Hotel Victor to help launch LCD, a book of photos from the group's last seven years of touring. It runs from 9 p.m. - 2 a.m. Visit hotelvictorsouthbeach.com.
Mestizo City: There's a giant cube of Jarritos. Need we say more? It's open to the public during the day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., but you'll want to visit again at 9 p.m. when Robert Rodriguez' band Chingon plays a free show.
Casa de Don Julio: Mr. Brainwash -- you may not like his aesthetic, but you can't deny that it just doesn't feel like Art Basel without him. He's hosting an installation at Boulan South Beach tonight, and it's sponsored by Tequila Don Julio, which means that you can just do shots until you appreciate his work. The installation's open all night; VIP hour starts at 8:30 p.m.
