Indie Film Club Miami hosts another of its unique talent shows this month. Springing off from the idea that International Women’s Day arrives March 8, this month’s I’m Not Gonna Move to LA is the Women Director Edition. Diliana Alexander, executive director of Indie Film Club Miami, calls the event “a mashup of short films, music, and comedy, all locally grown. It’s a cross between a Japanese game show and a creative meetup, perfect for a date or just to meet like-minded individuals in a playful environment.” The seven films featured include documentaries, experimental works, fictional works, and music videos. The directors will be there to take comments from the audience during rapid-fire Q&As and, as Alexander mysteriously notes, some other “unorthodox and very interactive way.” Attendees can expect a live interactive performance by the Miami-based Haitian voodoo-jazz-inspired guitar and vocals duo Kazoots. There will also be a surprise comedian to keep crowd’s energy up. Finally, come prepared to answer film trivia questions for prizes. Be at O Cinema Wynwood (90 NW 29th St., Miami) Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. to catch the movie magic. Tickets cost $10. Call 305-797-9337 or visit indiefilmclubmiami.com.
