How do we feel about all of these 9/11 shows coming out? Is it too soon? Do we really need to see the replay over and over again? The jury is still out as to whether it's exploitation, but at least it's some sort of closure for the people who make the movies. Theoretically. Yes, they might rake in millions of dollars in ticket sales, but we like to believe all the money is going to the children and widows left behind.

From the theater development lab Ground Up & Rising comes September 10th, a new play about the impact of 9/11. Although this stage version has decidedly fewer special effects than the average Oliver Stone movie, it still promises to be a heart-wrencher. Rather than focusing on the terrorists, September 10th follows a group survivors who make it through the fateful day, and continues their stories in the following years. The show opens tonight and runs through October 7. Showtimes are 8:00 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2:00 and 7:00 p.m. Sundays at the Performing Arts Network, 13126 W. Dixie Hwy., North Miami. Tickets cost $15, $10 for students. Call 305-726-4359, or e-mail [email protected].
Fridays-Sundays. Starts: Sept. 15. Continues through Oct. 7
