As you wander the streets, soccer fields, and empty lots of Little Haiti this Friday, keep your ear to the ground for the pounding sound of Ice Cream. It’s one part bad trip sing-along and one part hippie freak-out. Imagine a slow, giddy dive into Satan’s black guts. Trippy. Now, you might already know these local psychedelicists as the band behind the recent Pussy Rot EP and songs such as “W.H.O.R.E.S.” and “Little Children.” But even if you don’t, you’ll recognize the deranged vibes when you hear them. So just follow those waves of noise to the Warehouse, where Ice Cream will play alongside Sergio Pineda, Grey Eights, Flower Flower, Milkspot, Dirty Birds, and Charlie Astro. There will also be art by local photographer Hunter Savoy Jaffee and psych-scape painter Reinier Gamboa.
