Calling on the great Bedeekin. Do you read me, Bedeekin? We're sorry, blog reader, you caught us trying to contact Time-Peace's "Intergalactic Consultant." His full name is Bedeekin Oobe, an inter-dimensional being who offers Miami's favorite neo-hippie watchmakers guidance. He's just one of several cosmic elements that have contributed to Time-Peace's steady growth and success.
We recently caught up with Time Peace founders Ron Muram,
David "Da Vid" Damnjanovic, and Ian "Kidd Lucid" Koslow as well as their resident alien, to check in on
the current state of Time-Peace. Turns out, they're leaving us, but
before they do, they're throwing a party at Wynwood Kitchen and Bar
this Saturday.
"I think we can all agree that Miami in the summer is not the most pleasant of places weather-wise," Muram says. "It's nice to go away, switch it up. That's really what I foresee us doing, rotation between the major spots in America, maybe eventually internationally."
Okay, so they're not really leaving, they're just taking their concept of time on the road. However, how long they'll be away is anyone's guess. Damnjanovic says, "We're still really young. None of us really want to stay in one place for too long. I grew up in a bunch of countries, Ron loves traveling--every summer's he's somewhere else. All of us love being able to move around. I think having the opportunity now to be able to go to different places is a great thing for us."
Next week, Da Vid and Kidd Lucid will embark on a cross-country road trip to spread their message of love, and with any luck, sell some watches along the way.
"Basically we had this shift to New York," Damnjanovic says. "One of our partners moved up there permanently, and then we also have a couple of other members up there. Now we're going to California with our friends from H.O.W.L, Hand Only with Love.
"Ian met (H.O.W.L) during WMC at a party, and it kind of just clicked. They're moving out to L.A. and basically planning this huge road trip to make all these stops, do a bunch of trunk shows along the way, and just kind of spread the message. After talking with them for like four hours at The Standard, they were like, 'hey, we just have two more spots on the bus. Do you guys want to go?' Kidd Lucid and I looked at each other and were like, absolutely."
The tour kicked off, sort of, at Coral Castle earlier this month when Time-Peace and H.O.W.L spent the day there. Why? Because according to Kidd Lucid, "Coral Castle is a really inspiring, magical spot. It's basically the most magical spot in South Florida, maybe in the country, I don't know. That's why it makes sense to go there."
From the South Dixie Highway landmark, Time-Peace and H.O.W.L is heading north towards Orlando for a stop at the happiest place on earth, Disney World, then onward to Atlanta, New Orleans, Austin, Santa Fe, Las Vegas, and several other places in between before reaching Los Angeles, where Muram will meet up with them. In typical Time-Peace fashion, they'll go with the flow and figure out the next step when they're ready. Or when Bedeeekin says it's time.
Kidd Lucid says, "Bedeekin's been really inspirational, and has a lot to do with the success of Time Peace. He came here to help mankind, and one of the ways he helped mankind is through Time Peace."
We asked Kidd Lucid what the chances of speaking with Bedeekin were like, and he assured us they were pretty high. A few minutes after our phone conversation, Kidd provided a British e-mail address.
Below is the first interview ever published with the inter-dimensional being known as Bedeekin Oobe.
Cultist: You're Time-Peace's Intergalactic Consultant. What exactly does that mean? Bedeekin: The correct term is Ethergenic Consultant but that term won't get used for ten years yet. The closest term would be Intergalactic.
I was kindly given that title by the Kidd and his kind. I am merely orchestrating the course of their true destiny by creating a shift in consciousness towards a natural conclusion of the true perception of time. Also I know what rocks, so I have a hand in the design process.
From what I understand you find people, people don't find you. How did you find Time-Peace? Why them, and not, say, Seiko?
Well, I'm primarily an emissary of the 13th phase so this is really just a long sabbatical for me... Time-Peace and Kidd Lucid are given facts amongst the microcosmic universe so it wasn't hard to locate them. I actually knew that the time was needed to find "the Kidd" 20 years ago... It was documented in the records that he lived in Hollywood in the USA. It took me 18 years to finally leave L.A. until by sheer chance I found him through a contact living on the island of Britain. He knew Kidd as a kindred traveler.
I apologize for not knowing what a Seiko was, I had to "Google it," as you say.
The watch is merely a perfect juxtapositional symbol with which to put the TP symbol on. It is the message that is more important.
Kidd Lucid says you have a lot to do with the success of Time-Peace, and that you're also his stylist. How would you describe his style, how would you describe yours?
Really? He did? That is interesting because it is I who would like to be as style savvy as he. His style is akin to what would result were one to slam North American Indian with Bohemian Shaman together in the Large Hadron Collider.
My style is much more functional. I commonly wear a one-piece dielectric suit made from a perma-spun matrix of pure titaniumtrisilicate alloy. My style is Fritz Lang meets David Bowie.
Tell me a little bit about time peace's lucid dream tour. Are you going on the tour? Was it your idea?
Though a small move amongst the greater force it symbolizes, the tour is for me an important caravan of young free thinkers wishing to share knowledge, innovation and their artistic craft to others spreading the 'wider reality' and opening minds. They will film their journey to spread this free thought to the global community. As you can tell I am a romantic at hearts.
I will be going on the tour... but although it excites me that my kind is slowly being embraced by your culture the time is not yet right for me to parade around in the sun for all to see. We will save that for another time. I am happy being a metaphor at present.
Are you glad Time-Peace is physically getting out of South Florida, or do you think their leaving at the same time as Miami's cultural, creative reawakening is selfish?
Not in the slightest, no. I am personally neither glad nor sad. Leaving, or rather moving on, at the same time as a cultural reawakening is cathartic and quite symbolic if looked at objectively. To hold on to TP would be akin to keeping the Golden Goose and not sharing its golden egg laying capabilities with others. Miami will always be the spiritual home of Time-Peace.
